Q:
I'm ready to buy and looking for a point and shoot digital camera that takes good, clear closeup photos of jewelry for under $300. Any recommendations?

I've had a few different point and shoot digital cameras, and I must say that the one I currently have, the Sony Cybershot DSC-W80 is by far the best. Takes great pictures all around. We have used it on close up shots of labels that we wanted to check out later on evernote and it works great. I think this one sells for under $200.

Canon powershots and Panasonic are pretty good. You don't need high MP.. what you do need is a great zoom (at least 6 x zoom) and hopefully a selection for MACRO Photos.. which the Canons have. I would check out B&H photo and search there as well as check out Costco and Ebay. I got my Canon which does all the above wi 7.1 MP and 6x zoom and VIDEO with sound. Also make sure you shoot in really REALLY good light.
all the point and shoot cameras shown below will not give you the photo quality you need. If you go SLR (which is over your $$), you will need a macro lense
