Details: Cooking for usually 2 people...will be using instead of the regular oven, not in addition to it; like the AUTO turn off feature; big enough to fit a pie plate for lets say a quiche, at a reasonable cost thanks

Try the combo microwave/convection ovens. I have one that really holds a good sized chicken or even a medium pizza. It takes up a chunk of counter space BUT it would eliminate the need for a microwave too

Cuisinart's convection oven / toaster is fantastic. it's like having a second oven. it's very affordable and gets wonderful reviews.

Convection is great for things like soufflé's, which it will cook in 10 minutes instead of about 18 in conventional. Terrific for busy people that want shorter cooking times w/o the taste issues of microwave. I agree w/ stevie that a combo is more convenient or better still paying a little extra for a range w/ convection is worth it.
