Details: I'm looking into getting a digital camera. dSLR seems like the current preference. I'm liking what I've read on the Nikon D80 .. but want to see what else is recommended .. or your thoughts on the D80. Thx

Ray has the D80, he can give you recommendations on that. I think you should try the D40x, it's newer and it's supposed to be easier to use than the D80. The kit lens that comes with d40x is the same with d80.

I've got the D40x and its pretty easy to use and very functional. D80 is much heavier and more complicated. My cousin has it and we still don't know how to disable the flash :P
