Details: I am getting a Canon SD800. I am looking for a good quality carrying case and spare battery. Has any one try the accessory kit (http://www.recommendr.com/item/view/NDYyMTY2) from Canon? Should I get the battery from Canon or is there a better one out there?

Have you checked out B& H Camera? that's a great place to check out in NYC and online. They are VERY honest. However do some comparison shopping on Amazon. However B&H provides great service.
