The Dyson is the best vacuum ever. It's also the most expensive one I bought but it's totally worth it. Highly recommended...

I second the Dyson recommendation. My DC15 is great. It makes vacuuming fun.

I agree that the Dyson is great but not everyone wants to spend hundreds on a vacuum. The Bissell is a very good vacuum and gets the job done.

Hands down the Dyson Animal is by far the BEST vacuum cleaner I have ever owned, it's well worth the $500 I spent on it 2 years ago. The Dyson animal is an essential for any pet owner. I have a cat and a dog and man does it seem to get tons of the pet dander, it's amazing.

If you are wanting a canister vac, then I highly recommend the Air Way Centurion. I absolutely love it and it does a great job. It's price is on the same lines as the Dyson uprights mentioned above. I have the purple Anniversary edition. The manufacturer link is: http://www.air-way.net You do have to buy it through a dealer, but they will help you find one in your area or online. Canisters do have better suction than uprights.
I will say that if the Dyson upright had been around when I was purchasing a new vacuum, it would have been on the TOP of my list for an upright.

No Question... Dyson.. I had a German Shepard living in our house 24/7 and it sucked up the hair and dander and makes the carpet nap stick up for days!!! Before I used a Kirby .. No comparison!
