I love my Fuji Z3. I think there is a more current model. It got great reviews. I use it at work as a video camera as well as a point and shoot.

Depends on things like price range and stuff like that. In the "not dirt cheap but still very inexpensive" category, we really like our Canon SD750. Two primary reasons: it's pretty tiny and it has the facial recognition feature. The facial recognition feature doesn't get much attention in ads and stuff but it's AWESOME. It automatically detects faces and sets up the exposure based on that. There are a number of other Canon point-and-shoots w/ that feature. It was the cheapest one after we had the previous one stolen... didn't want to pay a bunch of $$$. Good luck!

Now is actually a pretty good time to buy. Canon just released their new line-up so you can get a good deal on a great camera. Check out the SD750 as taylortm mentioned and the SD800. They are the 'older' models so you can find pretty good prices right now. The facial recognition feature is pretty cool, I agree.

Flo
I got the SD800 as a birthday present. So far I've used the timer, video, and multishot functions and it's been great. My favorite is th large screen so you can really see the pic.
