Q:
What is the best heating unit?
Nov 5th 2007, 00:34 - 1 Answer Category: Consumer Electronics Details: Must do heating, humidity control, and a temperature sensing auto adjust. Must be a per-room unit not a whole house heating solution. We have tried electric blankets but they are bad for the skin and portable heaters dry up the room too much. Cost is of no issue. |

You might be better off getting a separate heating and humidity unit, as it will be difficult to find one unit that does both well. For a humidifier, I have and like the Honeywell Quicksteam models; they're quiet, quick and realtively easy to clean. They also work by heating the water, which contributes slightly to heating the room. Humidifiers in general also make heaters more efficient, because the more humid air is, the easier it is to heat. One of the best things with Honeywell is their customer service, I had an older unit that broke after over a year, and they sent me a new unit and model, no questions asked.
For a heater, you should get an oil-filled heater, which works similar to the way those big steam readiators in older homes work. You can't beat them for heating ability and efficiency.
