Should I buy the new, cheaper, 40gb ps3 or just dish out $100 more and get the 80gb?

It all depends on how much you value the card reader as well... cause the 40 gb version doesnt have that feature... but if i were you i would get the 80 gb version if you feel you have the money, otherwise go for the 40 gb version

Don't get sucked into the trap of the pricing experts of Sony (or Apple). Pay for what you need. If you only need a game player and blu-ray player then get the 40gb.

Remember that you can always swap the hard drive with a larger one, so think about the other options.
(I would go for the 40gb, just because it costs a bit less.)
