Q:
Is Toyota Matrix a good buy or not?
Nov 15th 2007, 19:26 - 4 Answers Category: Cars & Parts Details: Does it seat 5 people comfortably? I like the mileage of Toyota Matrix but there is a new 2009 model coming up. Therefore, I am in a dilemma whether to buy it now or should I wait for the new model or just ditch the Matrix all together & go for the Honda CR-V. |

You might consider getting a prius base model... they are actually obtainable these days and you can get a base model a bit below sticker which I believe is 21-22k

I'm currently leasing a 2005 matrix and quite satisfied with it (i will buy it once the lease is up). 2009 models available soon? geez, it's not event 2008!
seating for 5 is adequate, probably on par with the CR-V. the big plus with the matrix would be the mileage and the fold down back row for storage. the biggest drawback would probably be horsepower. i did not go for the cr-v/rav-4 things because they had the same engines (and chassis) as the corollas/civics. i thought "what's the point? if it's not REALLY 4 wheel drive, that's like a psuedo SUV". so i think it all depends on your "styling" preference. although, i do agree with chickenhunt. if you can find a prius for the same price range, that would be a better deal!

Matrix and Prius both have major blind spots. If you're ok with it, buy the Prius.
