Yes, I believe in 360! Live is awesome as well as their line up. Try assassin's creed or mass effect. You wont regret it!
Make sure you keep your 360 in a properly cooled place with minimal dust/etc. It's pretty bad odds to get the ring of death twice!

I'd keep the xbox if you are happy with the games available for it. Just send it back and get warranty service for it. You can get a bad console with any of the big 3. It's just that MS has a lot of people that hate them so anything that goes wrong is always in the news. Even if you decide to switch to the PS3, you'll still probably want the xbox fixed so that you can sell it for a better price. I'd send it in when you have a little time.

Go with the ps3 only if you have the TV for it. Online gaming is free while the 360 isn't. Xbox 360 has a lot of problems and microsoft supposedly "fixed" them with brand new models, but people are still getting rings of death. I have a 360 and have not gotten the ring of death, I guess I'm lucky

PS3 is still hard to find (at least in my area) and you already have the 360. Although you could have both, you would have to buy your games again. This sounds like a no-brainer to me. Maybe your problems are from how you're using it... Are you placing it on a hard surface like a cabinet or are you placing it on a carpeted floor? Be sure to keep it well-ventilated.

I'd stick with the 360. The graphics on the PS3 are slightly superior but most people I know who've purchased have found the gameplay to be lacking. There are a few titles for the PS3 that aren't available for the 360 but overall the game selection is better for the 360 still. Also the price for the PS3 is pretty ridiculous if you're not going to use the blue ray drive much.

My husband has a 360 and has has the ring of death twice also. His was one of the first released. He says keep your 360 and keep your warranty up to date. He is satisfied with what microsoft has done to fix his problems even sending him a free xbox live card to cover the time the system was down. It has been a year since his last problem, he recommends staying with the 360.

I'd say go with the PS3. The xbox might have better games out now but virtually every game that is coming out on the xbox will hit the PS3. And PS3 will get a load of exclusives next year like the new Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo (yayyyyyy, I just cried thinking about it), and littlebigplanet. (it's a new title) Basically, I say you gave xbox two tries, now try the PS3.

The Xbox 360 is a nice machine, but only if/when it works. I would just jump ship to the Playstation 3. The Playstation hardware is pretty reliable, it is less noisy than the 360, and watching Blu Ray movies on it are great. I will concede that the Xbox has the better gaming lineup, but the PS3 library is continually improving.
