Details: I'm looking to wear one around all day to keep track of how many steps I take, so I want one that is accurate, but unobtrusive. I would like one that sits around the waist.

My wife has a Timex, and it seems to work very well, is extremely durable (she has dropped it countless times), the display is very easy to read, and it is compact. I would recommend it.

I have an Omron Aerobic that I really like. It has a 7 day memory, counts both steps and aerobic steps, calculates the length of your step from your height so that it can give you mileage, tells calories burned based on your weight, turns off the display to conserve the batteries, and has a clock. Mine cost about $14 at my pharmacy.
